Q1: How did you come to BMU?

A: My daddy’s friend’s child attends this school. I did my research and I like the school and I came.

Q2: What's the hardest academic moment that you've had this semester? And did you cry?

A: I don't think school can make me cry but the hardest academic session I've had is this exam period because I don't know what I'm doing but I just know that I want to read and pass.

Q3: How would you define failure and success as a student?

A: For me to say I'm a successful student, that means I'm going to have a very good CGPA, from a range like 3.5 upwards. Success means I have to be good all round, not necessarily just academic. I have to balance every aspect of my life for me to be successful. A failing student is one that set a goal and didn’t achieve it. You can still consider a failing student as someone that does not have a very good CGPA like

2 or 1 grade point. It just depends on your perspective.

Q4: Have you ever made any major mistakes as a student?

A: And was there any lesson you learned from it? Yes, I have. And the lesson I learned from it is that don't go through shortcuts. Just try your best. Do what you are supposed to do at the right time. Try your best and leave the rest for God.

Q5: What do you think people misunderstand about your course?

A: I feel like people don't really have much knowledge about public health because it's a new course. It's a very good course. It has a wide range. It's not just focused on one aspect, like nursing. Public health workers are diversified. You can choose to do what you want to do and still have your own personal time.

Q6: Is there any deity or being you believe in and why?

A: Yes, God. The reason I believe in God is that He’s my personal Lord and saviour.

Q7: Do you have proof?

A: Yes, my bible.

Q8: Why do you believe in the bible?

A: Because, the bible is the word.

Q9: Are you saying that because you were just taught to believe the Bible? Is it because of your environment? Or have you had a personal experience you would like to share?

A: Okay. I grew up in a Christian home. But apart from that, I have had my own personal knowledge about God and I've come to believe that in any journey in life you need God.

Q10: What’s your honest opinion about romantic relationships in school?

A: My honest opinion about dating school is that everybody comes from a different background. We have different perspectives about and motives for a relationship.

There are some people that I feel are not mature enough to date because they don't know the meaning of dating in the first place. I feel if you want to date in secondary school, you have to be intentional about it. You need to know why you want to date the person. If you know that you're not ready to get married to the person-because that's the main goal of dating-marriage, then there is no need for dating. Just focus on your academics.

Q11: If you have not already met Mr. Right here, do you wish to meet him here?

A: I don't wish to meet him here, but we never can tell what life has in store for us.

Q12: Does anyone instantly pop up in your head if I ask if there’s anyone that has majorly shaped your academic journey?

A: My secondary school physics teacher, Mr. Rukeme. He was my lesson teacher. When he stopped coming to teach me at home, he would still check up on me and make sure that I'm doing very well in school. He played a major role in my academics.

Q13: What's the biggest misconception you believe lecturers have about students?

A: That if you’re not getting A that means you’re not putting in enough effort.

Q14: Are you a student vendor?

A: Yes, I am.

Q15: Can you tell us how you balance your business with academics?

A: Okay, I make sure to do the right thing at the right time. First of all, you have to know your major and your minor. What's my major? My major is my academics and my minor is my business. So I have to know when to do the right thing at the right time. You just have to know what your priority is. When you know your priority, I believe you're able to balance anything you want to balance.

Q16: In all aspects of your life as a student, which aspect do you majorly face struggles apart from academics?

A: My spiritual life. As much as I try to be focused and be intentional about my spiritual life, I still find it very difficult to be there and committed.

Q17: Do you feel there's a reason for it?

A: There is a reason. I don't know if I'm ready to be intentional yet and deliberate about it. I don't want to go in and come out. I don't want to be a hypocrite.
