I went to brush my teeth,

When I entered the bathroom, without thinking, I glanced at the mirror and I immediately thought out loud: Girl, jeez, you're so pretty.

I stared at myself for a couple of seconds before the light in my eyes began to fade

And my lips curved downwards

In the next 15 minutes,

Once I step out

It'll be a different story

I see people when I step out

I struggle to breath above society's definition of beauty when I step out

Suffocating in others peculiarity when I step out

I don't think anyone sees me

Or even notices,

Not if some touches of chemicals refined in laboratories tagged as cosmetics find their way to my face,

But like now and every single morning, I step into the bathroom,

Standing in front of my mirror

My eye bags are so pretty,

Straight up from 3 hours of sleep,

I line the shape of my eyes and the way my brow curves,

I'm lost in my perfectly shaped and coloured lips,

I outline the sculpt of my cheekbones and notice how the placement of my ears fit in perfectly,

Oh, I am beautiful

I am an original
