Q1: How did you get to know about BMU and how did you come here?

A: It was my dad who spotted this school.

The first university I applied to didn't accept me because I was too young so we decided that I'll come here.

Q2: What was the greatest struggle you've ever faced as a student?

A: Balance.

Q3: The course that you're doing right now—would you say you're doing it out of passion and would you say you're walking on purpose?

A: Optometry wasn't what I wanted at first but if this is the direction God placed me in, then I'll go with it. I wouldn't say it's out of passion but I'm walking on purpose.

Q4: Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?

A: I'm not sure yet. I don't know.

Q5: Do you believe in God and why?

A: He has come through for me in many ways.

Q6: What's your hardest academic semester or the hardest moment you've ever faced in any semester and were there times you cried?

A: 100L second semester. I cried a lot and a lot of things I didn't see coming, happened.

Q7: How do you define failure and success as a student?

A: Well, you have to fail to succeed but the problem comes when you put no effort to try again after failing.

I feel a student is successful when he or she is able to put to practice what he or she learnt in school.

Q8: Would you consider a carryover student a failed student?

A: No. There are many things that cause a student to have carryover. It cannot be categorically stated that it's the student's negligence to their studies that caused the carryover.

Q9: Do you think religion plays a role in academics?

A: A Christian with God's backing will do extremely well. God makes the difference. A Muslim can do well academically if he or she puts their mind to it.

Q10: Have you made any mistake as a student that's taught you a deep lesson and have you ever failed as a student and how did you handle it?

A: Yes, I've learnt a lot of lessons since I came here. One of them would be not relying on or placing any trust in people.

Also, the earlier you start anything, the better. Procrastination isn't good.

About the failure, I was relaxed preparing for my Junior mock in JSS3 and it showed on my result.

Q12: Are there people in this school you've met and you can say God brought you here to meet them?

A: I thought I met someone but the relationship grew cold and there was a drift.

Q13: If I ask you if there is anyone that's impacted your academic journey, does anyone pop up in your head?

A: My parents.

Q14: Are there any faults in the Nigerian educational system that if given the opportunity to change, you're going to change instantly and what change(s) are you going to implement?

A: Favouritism in relation to tribe and affluence.

Q15: What's your honest opinion about romantic relationships in school?

A: I would not advise anybody in 100L to date. You're new to the system and a romantic relationship would destabilize you.

It's okay in the long run as long as you both know what you want and it doesn't affect your academics.

Q16: What's your criteria to enter into a relationship?

A: When I'm balanced and I can make the right decisions for myself.

Q17: Do you wish to find your Mr. Right in BMU?

A: If he's here or not, it's okay.

Q18: What's the biggest misconception you believe lecturers have about students?

A: They feel like every set is a worse set than the previous.
