Q1: How did you get to know about BMU and how did you come here?
A: I knew BMU through my mother's friend who is a friend to the HOD of nursing, BMU
Q2: Would you say that you're studying your course out of passion and that you're walking in purpose?
A: I would say I'm walking in purpose. The first time I knew about the course was when I was given admission to study it and I've had passion for it since 100L.
I know I'm walking in purpose because I prayed about it.
Q3: You prayed about it? You believe in God?
A: Yes.
Q4: Why?
A: He has done a lot for me.
Q5: What's the greatest struggle you've ever faced as a student?
A: The tension, fears and doubts that come with exam period; and going to class from home.
Q6: What's the hardest academic semester you've ever faced; what's the hardest academic moment you faced in this semester and were there times you cried?
A: 200L first semester was the hardest. We were learning new things. I really cried because it was was all too much.
Q8: Have you ever made any mistake as a student that has taught you a deep lesson and have you ever failed as a student and how did you handle it?
A: I made mistakes in my 100 level, first semester.
I was not reading because it was something that I did in secondary school.
I ended up failing Chemistry and Physics. I really cried.
In a bid to handle it, I started reading early in second semester started reading early. I was always going to school to read.
Q9: If you were the VC of the school for one day, what's the first thing you would do?
A: I'll encourage the students because the struggle is real.
Q10: Do you stay off campus?
A: Yes, I do.
Q11: What's the biggest challenge you've had being an off-campus student?
A: You pay for almost everything; lights, water, food.
Q12: Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?
A: I see myself as a practicing physiotherapist, a public figure in christianity and a model for girls. Maybe I will be married then.
Q13: Do you think religion plays a role in academics?
It's dependent on both God and yourself. If you prepare well, exam would be easy.
They say 'the spiritual controls the physical'.
You have to connect with God to help you, especially to remember what you've read.
Q14: If I ask you if there's anyone that's had an impact on your academic journey, does anyone pop up in your head?
Yes, my mom.
She wants to be a doctor and she's an inspiration to me
Q15: Has the Nigerian educational system ever harmed you?
A: I was JAMBed twice and I've had carry overs.
Q16: How did you feel during those periods?
A: 'It's not funny oh'. They were very sad moments.
Q17: Have you ever gotten entangled with the wrong association?
A: Almost. I met two girls during my 100L clearance. They did things that negated my value system. One had a boyfriend and the other was used to persuading me to go to clubs or take alcohol.
I almost fell. I was living off campus with my church member and family friend. They were very strict with me and that saved me.
I prayed for good friends and they came second semester. I met people like Esther and Prosper.
Q18: Are there experiences that you've had in this school that were confirmations that you're meant to be here?
A: First would be the people that I met here. Secondly, the first time I came to here, I had this peace of mind that I'm meant to be here.
I love the environment because it's quiet and serene.
Q19: What's your honest opinion about romantic relationships in school?
A: I think you need to focus on that area of your life when you're done with school.
I feel it's a distraction. I'm not the kind of person who can multitask. I can only focus on one area of my life per time.
Q20: Do you wish to find your Mr. Right in BMU?
A: I should be in 500L if I should find him here.
