Q1: How did you get to know about BMU and how did you come here?
A: I found out about BMU from my aunt's husband because he's from Bayelsa State.
Q2: What's the hardest academic semester you've ever faced and were there times you cried?
A: 200L first semester. It was not a nice experience and it showed in my results.
Q3: What's the greatest struggle you've ever faced as a student?
A: Fear of failure and not getting to where you want to.
Q4: How do you define failure and success?
A: Failing, for me, is when you're performing below your usual capacity.
Success is reaching the peak of your strength.
Even if you do not get an A, success is known that you out in your best.
Q5: Have you made any mistake as a student that has taught you a deep lesson and have you ever failed as a student and how did you handle it?
A: The mistake I made was having friends that didn't have the same goals and values like me. They were social people while I was the reseved type.
We told ourselves we weren't going to do boys as we're entering senior secondary school. We are not dating till we leave this school and they were very beautiful girls. Yes, we are all beautiful. But they started getting into boys during our final exams.
Also, they carried cheat papers into the exam hall during our final exam while I didn't do any of that.
I realized too late that you don't need people to make you feel fulfilled. You can be alone and still do what you are meant to do. You don't really need people around you to just make you feel good.
Q6: Do you believe in God and why?
A: Yes, through personal encounters.
One period I was very down -disappointed because of something that happened and I was very disappointed.
People were praying about it. My mum would call people to come to talk to me because I would not talk. One night to a revival program I was seriously crying told God do something at the revival. I couldn't understand why I was serving God and all those things would be happening to me.
He spoke through the pastor at the revival service to me
Then what I was praying for came to pass that very day.
Q7: Are there any faults in the Nigerian educational system that if given the opportunity to change instantly, you're going to change, and want change(s) would you implement?
A: I'm going to remove JAMB
It's delaying a lot of students for no reason.
Q8: Has BMU ever frustrated or annoyed in any way?
One particular holiday, we heard that they were going to change the school fee.We kept waiting to hear an update on the new school fee but we didn't hear any.
Then we saw an information and we thought that that was the new school fee. We paid.
Then the main school fee update came late and we realize that what we paid wasn't correct so we had to balance the payment. It was a long road coming before I finally saw that my payment was approved.
And it was too late to apply for hostel as at the time it was approved.
Q9: What's your honest opinion in about romantic relationships in school?
A: That's a very big waste of time.
I came to school to read. There's too much involved in romantic relationships to put it together with academics. You should focus on your books.
I don't think they work together. As for when you would know that you're ready for one, it varies individually. For me, I'll need to be stable physically and emotionally.
If you feel you are ready for marriage, then you can go into one. Do not start anything that will not lead to marriage because you are only playing with yourself.
